Colette
Q. dear Heidi, I’m really bored of the clothes I have. I seem to wear the same things all the time and could do with a way to liven up my wardrobe. I don't have much cash so I could do with a cheap solution. Please help!
Sarah
A. Well Sarah and Colette, I have one word for you. Primark! This is possibly my number one favourite high street store for all things cheap cheap cheap. Find your nearest store at www.primark.co.uk.
I like buying cheap things from Primark and adding cool badges and patches to make them a bit different. Try getting creative with fabric paint or dilute bleach in a spray bottle and a stencil. Dilute 1 part bleach to 5 parts water in an old plant sprayer or pump action hairspray bottle. Tape off areas of a cotton garment or lay down a stencil and spray with your bleach mixture. You can create some amazing different effects with experimentation (if you are nervous try practicing on some old clothes first). Please ask an adult to help you with this if you are not confident, and whatever you do DON'T use your mum's plant sprayer and leave it full of bleach, her Orchids will never forgive you!
You could buy a complete Primark outfit and then splash out on some pricier accessories such as a Heidi Seeker 'Electro Bag', a kickass accessory can make the rest of your outfit look like it came from somewhere really expensive.

I also love thrift store shopping; mixing vintage pieces into your current wardrobe can be a great way of dressing individually but still cheaply. I sometimes challenge myself to get a whole outfit including shoes for £15 from charity shops and it is great fun. You and your friends can play at dressing up and you know you will never find anyone wearing the same outfit as you. Charity shops still can have a real stigma attached to them. If you are worried your friends will take the micky tell them your new studded denim jacket is 'vintage' It sounds much more expensive!

I advise going early in the morning otherwise you tend to get tangled up in the shopping missions of scary mums with millions of chocolate spread covered toddlers in tow. Also at 9am
the place does not yet resemble a jumble sale. he he : D
