Q. Aaah Help! My super trendy mate has organised a 'new rave' New Years party and I have no idea what to wear. I had only just been born in 1988 when the original raves were going on and I have no idea what kind of things I should be wearing to get the right look. Please advise me queen of seekerness!

A. Hmm being just a nipper myself in 88 I was not raving it up until way into the 90s! So I cannot really advise you based on personal memory. What I can do is show you a sneak peek of the new Heidi Seeker RAVE range available later on this month, for New Year delivery! Follow these simple rules and I think your new/nu/nue rave look should be brighter that a million light sticks!

1. You can never have enough neon. You need to look like you fell into a radioactive lake and then got abducted by aliens and force-fed light sticks. A bit of neon eye shadow would probably do if you are not too adventurous! (See stargazer for dayglo eye shadow)

2. Cram as many smiley faces onto your being as possible! We have some ACE iron on patches
in our DIY section just for that purpose. See above for more smiley action!

3. Find a neon shell suit. You may not remember shell suits but alas I do. Dayglo, windproof, highly flammable sportswear. It littered the late 80s and early 90s like a horrendous fluorescent plague. I had a neon yellow complete tracksuit (my mother said it was so she could find me when I ran off in the supermarket) I reckon even if I was a mile away in a complete blackout you would have seen me. Dayglo sportswear IS the way forward with this look. Go find some! Charity shops are a good bet, so is eBay. Or if you are too scared for an all out sporting look, get some neon leggings to wear with a little mini dress (LLROK has some fab ones)

3. Accessorise- Light sticks, whistles, white gloves and visor sunglasses will complete your look. Keep a look out in January for some super sunglasses coming to heidiseeker.com. In the mean time get your white gloves on and pull some shapes!
