Heidi

Q.

Hi Heidi!
I found out about Heidi Seeker in my fave mag, MIZZ and so I decided to check out your webbie, it's so cool and it totally rocks! I was wondering whether 'Heidi Seeker' is your real name because I know that we Heidis get a lot of 'heidi-seek' (hide and seek) jokes, in fact I have the nick name of 'Miss Seeky'! It's so cool seeing my name up on such a snazzy webbie, and you have just my style. I've always been really individual and my friends know me for it! Are you sure we're not the same girl......?! LOL!

A.

Heidi-hi Miss Heidi!!!!

It's great to hear from a real Heidi that loves Heidi Seeker. We do get a lot of orders from girls called Heidi too :-D

All my friends and fans call me Heidi. Its the best name EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hostess with the Mostess

Q.
i really need to ask: im having a sleepover for my birthday, have you got any fun tips on what to do etc? im stuck for ideas, i really want to be the hostess with the mostess.

:)_heidi_:)

p.s
i LOVE this website (not just because of my name) as its my birthday on th 15th may i had been given some cash so i could get what i want. last night i bought a mystery bag, hypno cake pin and some hairclips! cant wait!

A.
Having sleepovers is soo much fun and its great to get all the girls together and have some fun. Get in lots of DVD's and have a chick flick marathon, with popcorn and lots of haribos to munch on. Or if you want to, get everyone involved and you could have a go at baking cupcakes and decorating them in crazy tastey ways. yum yum.
And a bit of kareoke and singing into your hairbrush never hurt anyone either ;) You'll all be stars in your own bedroom.

Have an amazing party!!! Hope you like the mystery bag.

Frizz be gone!

Q.
Hey Heidi!
I'm a little stuck with how I should have my hair so i've decided to ask you. Everyday when I wake up my hair is just a big frizz bomb! I was wondering how I could have my hair so can you give me some tips? and maybe name some cute accesories that would go well with the style?
From Chloe :D

A.

Hey Chloe, well there are so many ways you can help banish the frizzies! Try using a intensive conditioner to inject some moisture back into your barnet, also always use heat protection spray whilst drying or straightening your hair so the heat doesn't dry it out further. I heart 'Bed Head' products, they have a amazing de-frizzer called 'Spoil me' which will leave your hair smooth and soft and smelling like a pick and mix, yum!
Once you hair is smelling and feeling gorgeous the fun can begin! Hair accessories are all over this season, from head scarfs to fascinators to hippy braided headbands, so there's lots of choice! Check out our hair candy too, my current faves are the Candy Cupcake Bows and the Keyboard Clip. If im having a bad hair day I use a small scarf to tie around my head in a sort of Katy Perry rockabilly look, knotting it at the front. Here are some pics I found that might give you some ideas :D x

Q

Hey Heidi I am literally obsessed with Heidi Seeker! Anyway i was wondering wheather you will be getting any dresses in at all 'cause i am going to a wedding and don't want anything plain and boring, i want to stand out (i usually do with things from this sight!) so i really want a dress from Heidi Seeker and then i will definately be noticed!! Can't wait to hear from you! Please write back.

Lucy xx

A

Hey Lucy, unfortunately we arn't putting any dresses on for summer but there are some AMAZING bright fascinators coming very soon!
Try Topshop for dresses, they often do capsule collections by more individual designers so keep a look out for them. Also have a peek on asos.com, their 'Laura Lees' and 'Little Miss Sew' dresses are super cute and make a statement. Teamed with some hair candy you will defiantly make an impression :)

Heidi loves you!

Q

hey heidi...

am really bored n a want to customize some of my stuff, got any tips??? thanx :)))))

A

Hey girls, Oh no! well imitation is the biggest form of flattery, but I know that doesn't help when you have a cool new style that someone else has decided to share with you!
hmmm well I would suggest getting things that she cant get anywhere else, have a look in charity shops for vintage looking band tees, and bright 80s/90s holiday or slogan tees, the best ones are always in the mens section. Or grab a bargin on ebay. I love spending hours hunting out a amazing find and they are often so cheap! If they are too big you can always cut and tie them to fit. Check out http://www.craftycrafty.tv/custom_clothes/2.html and www.craftster.org

They have tons of ideas to make your look individual.

OH! its car boot sale season too, this is one of my favorite pastimes! You will defiantly find something amazing for the bargain price of 10p. I've collected tons of belts, scarves and a mountain of cool 80's plastic jewellry from my many trips to the car booty. Have fun!!

Design Time

Q Hello Heidi, I'm really interested in fashion and fashion design. I love making my own stuff like bows, necklaces and tee's and always get great responses from people when i wear them out. I would love to do fashion design as a career or something in fashion but unfortunately I never took art as a subject(like as my standard grades) as I hated my schools art program and always clashed with my art teacher.Does it matter? & if so...Any ideas about what i can do to help solve my problemo??
<3 Fm Amanda XO

A
Hey hey hey Amanda, It sounds as if you're really passionate about following you love of creating your own things, I don't think it matters at all that you haven't had any formal training in fashion, 'Vivienne Westwood' didn't have any either and look what she's accomplished! Also the amazing duo 'Sasse and Bide' were self taught. Its all about having your own strong sense of style and getting you designs and creations out there.
There are loads of great websites you could join to start selling some of your tees and accessories. Try ebay.com, its really easy to get a sellers account set up. Or etsy.com 'a place to buy and sell all things handmade'.
Doing a placement is also a brilliant way to get your foot in the door, check out this website http://www.fashion.net/ it is packed with internships opportunities, mostly unpaid but great experience. It will give you a chance to get your talent noticed by designers.
Don't forget to send in some pics of your designs to the 'High 5' section, all of us in Heidi land would love to see your style. Happy making and good luck!!

A Hey Alex! Have you thought about iron on patches? or if your nifty at sewing they can be stitched on too. We have some retro cool patches in our D.I.Y. section that you might like, you could also try doing a search for 'vintage patches' on e-bay, i've had a peak and there are some aaaamazing ones. Grab them quick! Your bag will be far from hideous once you get customizing. These are some that I've found...patch.jpg

Young and Enterprising!!!

Q.
Dear Heidi Seeker,

My school is holding an enterprise project where students design, produce and sell a product to people of the public and get a profit. My team have decided to create a range of jewellery, principally bracelets and earrings so our target market is girls. We are inspired by your collection of fun jewellery and were hoping you could give us some advice!

Yours faithfully,

Josie's team (we haven't thought of a name yet!)

A.
Hey Josie!
That sounds like really exciting stuff. Its great designing your own products, just do loads of research into your target market. Read magazines, blogs and websites and get to know what's on trend right now. You can take inspiration from absolutely anything from Gossip Girl to Katy Perry, just keep it fun and cute and you'll enjoy it all the more. Make sure you shop around for the best offers on charms and bits all other bits and bobs, if you go to craft shops like hobby craft they'll have something that you can take and make something really special with. All the colourful beads, charms and ribbons. If you can it would be good if you could make your own charms too, as people would want to buy something really new and original. You could make your own badges too. The posabilities are endless........
Let us know how your collection goes and send us photos and we can post them on our High Five!
Good Luck!
